Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (751h) -RahimahuLLAH-, great scholar of the 14th century, was nicknamed “Tâbib al-Qouloub” (the doctor of hearts). And for good reason, many of his works emphasize the role of the heart and its influence on the relationship binding the individual to his Lord. The particularity of his style lies in particular in a pictorial approach which highlights the state of the soul. The author's depth of perception on the different situations of the soul implies words loaded with meaning. Which inevitably provokes a necessary examination of conscience in the reader.
